
Chaired by the Govt Director of UN Girls, Sima Sami Bahous, and created in partnership with the Authorities of Iceland, the UN Basis, and the Council of Girls World Leaders, the community will function in help of UN Girls’s work on girls’s management. Because the 30th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Motion approaches in 2025, and world leaders are being referred to as on to recommit to gender equality and ladies’s rights and empowerment, the community will function champions for variety in management.
The community consists of leaders corresponding to Amanda Nguyen, CEO and Founder, Rise; Ameenah Gurib-Fakim, President of Mauritius (2015 – 2018); Aya Chebbi, Former African Union Particular Envoy on Youth and Founding father of Nala Feminist Collective; Christine Lagarde, President of the European Central Financial institution; Hibaaq Osman, Founder and Chairperson, ThinkTank for Arab Girls, the Dignity Fund, Karama and the Centre for the Strategic Initiatives of Girls; Janet Mbugua, Creator, Advocate and Founder, Inua Dada Basis; Joyce Banda, President of Malawi (2012 – 2014); Julia Gillard, Prime Minister of Australia (2010 – 2013); Julieta Martinez, Local weather Justice and Gender Equality Youth Activist; Kathleen Hanna, Musician, Creator and Feminist Activist; Kimberlé Crenshaw, Civil Rights Advocate, Scholar and Co-Founder and Govt Director, African American Coverage Discussion board; Leymah Gbowee, Nobel Peace Prize Laureate, 2011; Melanne Verveer, Govt Director, Georgetown Institute of Girls, Peace and Safety, Georgetown College; Roxane Homosexual, Creator, Professor and Advocate; and Tarja Halonen, President of Finland (2000 – 2012).
