This report marks the fifth monitoring cycle of the Inter-Agency Standing Committee’s (IASC) 2017 “Policy on gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls in humanitarian action”. It gives a snapshot of the IASC’s output within the calendar 12 months 2022 and permits for cross comparability with the baseline established with the 2018 Gender Accountability Framework (GAF) report and the following 2019, 2020, and 2021 studies.
The annual GAF report is the one world monitoring mechanism in place to trace implementation of gender commitments in humanitarian settings. The 2022 GAF report benefited from inputs supplied by UN Ladies and OCHA places of work working in 29 disaster contexts, the best response charge so far. The advance in amount and high quality of responses suggests that there’s rising consciousness of and familiarity with the IASC gender coverage and total stronger prioritization of gender by the humanitarian sector.
